Material, Installation and Exterior Fitment Checks
Exterior accessory compatibility should be checked against the exact vehicle year, model, trim, bumper shape, fender profile, roof or hatch design, sensor configuration and mounting points. Parts that appear visually similar can still use different clips, brackets, openings or body contours.
Material also affects installation and long-term appearance. Carbon fiber exterior components require attention to weave alignment, clear-coat condition and UV exposure, while ABS components may require preparation, painting or finishing before installation. Confirm the supplied finish before painting or permanently mounting any part.
Installation methods vary by component. Some mirror covers, spoilers and trim pieces use clips or automotive adhesive, while splitters, side skirts and other structural exterior accessories can require screws, brackets or drilling. Test-fit the component first and confirm alignment, clearance and sensor operation before drilling holes or applying permanent adhesive.
Weather, Inspection and Warranty Evidence
Exterior accessories are exposed to rain, road contamination, temperature changes, sunlight and winter conditions. Inspect adhesive edges, mounting hardware, painted surfaces and carbon-fiber clear coat periodically. Keep the component clean and address loose fasteners, lifting tape or finish damage before the condition becomes more severe.
For technical support or warranty review, keep clear photos of the vehicle before installation, the received component, product labels, mounting points and the completed installation. If a fitment or finish issue is discovered, document it before drilling, painting, modifying or permanently bonding the component.
